Waldner Cup – A Table Tennis Invitational

Waldner Cup

Table tennis legend Jan Ove Waldner establishes The Waldner Cup with an ambition to make table tennis the number one global sport.

The Waldner Cup is a two-day live broadcasted event, where the best players from China play against the world's best players in professional and para classes.

Each team has both male and female players, which are handpicked by the team captains. Para players will also be included on the teams, making Waldner Cup the first sports event to integrate para athletes and professionals.

The team captain picks which players are set up against the rival team for each match. The scoring system is simple; one point per win on the first day of the cup, and two points on the second day. The first team to reach 16 points win the title as champions of the Waldner Cup.

The event is sanctioned and operated by the Norwegian Table Tennis Association.
